Music For Ballet features the music of UK composer Atheen.

Atheen trained in Vaganova method as a child and started composing music in her teens. As a four year old she had started classes after seeing The Sleeping Beauty on television. She was looking forward to wearing pink satin shoes, a tutu and dancing to orchestral music, so was disappointed in her early lessons to find that she was wearing a black tutu, black leather shoes and dancing to piano music! 🙂

As a result the first pieces she composed were orchestral and designed to be used in classes and for personal practise. Now there are are growing collection of pieces (orchestral AND piano!) available which she hopes will also be used in performances.

Atheen creates her pieces using Logic software and a collection of high quality orchestral sounds, but also hires live musicians to play parts whenever she can.
